Long term growth in demand for internal and IT auditors

The recent economic downturn stalled the development of internal audit in the Middle East as investment and recruitment was put on hold. Recruitment has now restarted and the influence of modern internal auditing is growing. Demand for internal auditors is coming not only from developing companies and institutions who are establishing new functions, but also existing functions that wish to enhance their capability. Governments across the Gulf are driving these initiatives through legislation and audit review bodies are advising on how internal audit functions can be improved.

Demand for experienced internal auditors is set to grow and we would expect this to be sustained. Internal audit is being integrated into a wider risk management framework and internal auditors will be needed in all sectors including banking, energy, leisure, public practice, industry and commerce and the public sector.
